The Virginia Paternity Establishment Program (VPEP) team members were honored to promote a sense of community service by volunteering at the Chesterfield Food Bank in Chester, Virginia.
The team of six were given job duties such as sorting, distribution and delivery of food to seniors in the community. There were more than 100 meals and food boxes delivered during this event.
Many seniors live with children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who can benefit from learning about paternity establishment. VPEP was allowed to distribute brochures, posters, and flyers to ensure that the recipients had information about adding the dad to the birth certificate.
More important, however, is the sense of community service, team building and partnership that the VPEP staff experienced.
We encourage everyone to have a community service day and experience the satisfaction of helping others in need.
